Have you ever been someplace new, but you had a feeling that you had been to this place before? Perhaps in a dream? I had that feeling at the Chateau Versailles, just outside of Paris, France. This has got to be the most magical place that I have ever been to. Every detail that went into making this place is breathtaking. Every inch of this place interested me and I imagined the royals that lived here, just going about their daily lives.
It's funny because this trip to the Versailles was not something that we had planned for. This specific day was set aside for us to be in London, via the EuroStar train. Upon arriving to the train station, my heart sank when I noticed that I had made a huge error. I mixed up the days that our train would be leaving, and it had already left - the day before! My son saw the disappointment on my face. I didn't want to let him down. I had promised to take him to Wimbledon to see his favorite tennis players at he most prestigious event on the profession tennis world tour. Instead of consoling him, he was consoling me and telling me everything would be alright and that it wasn't a big deal.
With a free day to do whatever we wanted, we decided to visit the Versailles. It would be hard to bring me out of my darkened mood, but as soon as I saw the golden gates to this gorgeous palace, I spruced right up and knew I was in for a real treat. To say the least, towards the end of our visit, I was kind of glad we missed the train to London and got to spend the day at the Versailles. I want to go back so badly and arrive to begin my day at the Versailles at an earlier time in the day.
I wore a cute and airy lilac button down, floral slip dress from Forever 21. I saw this dress still available on the site and in stores recently as well. Most of the tourists at the Versailles were dressed for "touristy" things, but I felt right at home being extra in my airy dress.
